WOMEN'S TENNIS: In their Western State Conference opener, the Pirates' women's tennis team welcomed conference newcomer Antelope Valley with a 9-0 sweep in Lancaster Tuesday afternoon. The No. 1 doubles team of Yannick Garcia and Jessica Moore won 8-0 while Garcia and Georgia Farrar each posted love, love wins in Nos. 1 and 5 singles, respectively. Farrar and Karissa Coronel won in No. 2 doubles while Moore, Dania Huacuja and Coronel all posted victories in singles competition.
Ventura (3-2, 1-0) will host Santa Barbara on Thursday Feb. 20 at 2:00 pm.
