Ventura College alumna Daisy Cardona '12 enters her third season with the Pirate coaching staff in 2016. She is one of the most-decorated former Pirates, twice earning National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American honors, including the NSCAA JC/CC Division III National Player of the Year Award in 2012. Cardona joined the VC coaching staff following her graduation from the University of Oklahoma.

Daisy was a four-year varsity player at Buena High School where she had an excellent career. She was selected first-team All-Channel League honors four seasons and was named the league MVP three times. Twice she earned All-CIF accolades and was also named first-team Ventura County Star All-County. Daisy served as the team captain, leading the Bulldogs to the CIF Southern Section title her senior year. She also played club with the highly-successful Eagles Soccer Club.

At Ventura College, Daisy scored 36 goals with 31 assists during her two seasons, 2011 and 2012. She was twice named NSCAA All-American and first-team All-Western State Conference. She scored in 11 straight matches as a sophomore, leading VC to a 15-match winning streak. The Pirates claimed two WSC championships during Daisy's two-year stay at Ventura College. She was named the College's Female Athlete of the Year for 2012-13.

At the University of Oklahoma, Daisy Started eight matches while appearing in every game her junior year. She owned a team-high six goals on just 17 total shots, posting 12 points on the season to lead the Sooners. Unfortunately, Daisy was unable to play her senior season due to a severe leg injury. She graduated from the University in 2015.

After returning to Ventura following graduatuon, Daisy went back to school at Rogers State University in Oklahoma to play her final season of collegiate eligibility in 2017, scoing 11 goals with four assists in 20 games for the Hillcats.
