Ventura College alumna and former team captain Breanne Blankenburg enters her fifth season on the Pirate coaching staff in 2017. Breanne played for the Pirates in the 2005 and 2006 seasons leading the team to the Western State Conference Championship both years, and her teams also played in the CCCAA regional playoffs. Breanne captained the team both seasons, appearing in 48 games for the Pirates. She was selected All-Western State Conference both seasons.

Breanne played four years of varsity for soccer at Ventura High School before playing for Ventura College. Breanne also coached the Ventura High School Junior Varsity team for six years.

Coach Hoffman believes Breanne will bring a passion and desire, and a great personality to the program.  She will be a fantastic role model for the women both on and of the field.  He knows she will be a great addition the coaching staff.

"I wish it (Ventura College) was a four year program," siad Blankenburg. "I enjoyed playing here so much. The competition was fantastic and I made friends for life."
