The Pirates' women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 result at Moorpark College Friday afternoon. Karen Saldana had VC's only goal of the game and Daisy Vaca was singled out for her strong play in the game.
The Raiders jumped on the scoreboard early with a goal off a corner kick in the opening minute of the game. They took a 2-0 lead with a goal in the 18th minute.
Early in the second half, MC made it 3-0 off another corner kick and they stretched the lead to 4-0 with a goal in the 65th minute.
Saldana prevented the shutout with a goal in the 88th minute of play to set the final margin.
Ventura (8-5-5, 3-3-3) had nine shots in the game with four on goal.
The Pirates next hosts Los Angeles Pierce on Tuesday Oct. 31 with a 6:00 pm kickoff at the VC Sportsplex.
