Pirate Soccer Earns No. 7 Seed in SoCal Regionals

The Ventura College women's soccer team finds itself in familiar surroundings as they have been seeded No. 7 in the Southern California Regional Playoffs, the program's 24th post-season appearance in 25 seasons under head coach Steve Hoffman. Ventura (15-3-3) will open the playoffs at home on Saturday Nov. 20 against Western State Conference foe and No. 11-seed Los Angeles Pierce (11-4-4). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm at the VC Sportsplex.

The Pirates, who won the WSC North Division by a full six points, will be playing the WSC North runner-up for the third time this season. The Pirates defeated the Brahmas 1-0 on Oct. 19 at the Sportsplex behind Alix Tirado's 67th minute goal. Just last week, VC dropped the regular season finale in Woodland Hills 2-1. Tirado scored in the 65th minute last Friday, but LAPC managed a pair of late goals to claim the result.
