Ventura Settles for Draw at Cuesta

On their longest road trip of the conference season, the Pirates' women's soccer team came home from San Luis Obispo with a 1-1 draw against Cuesta College on Friday afternoon. Alix Tirado netted VC's lone goal and Aaliyah Lopez recorded four saves in goal for the Pirates (10-2-2).

After a scoreless first half, Tirado broke the ice with her goal in the 51st minute, assisted by Desiree Tanner

The Cougars leveled the count with their goal in the 73rd minute, and the teams battled the final 20 minutes before settling for the draw.

The Pirates produced 16 shots in the game with five being on goal while Cuesta had six shots with five on target.

Ventura maintains a 3-point advantage over LA Pierce on top of the Western State Conference North Division standings. The Brahmas visit the Pirates on Tuesday Oct. 19 at 6:30 pm.
