Women's Soccer Adds to WSC North Advantage

The Ventura College women's soccer team added three more points to their total atop the Western State Conference North Division table Friday with a 4-0 victory over Oxnard at the VC Sportsplex. Midfielder Tiffany Hernandez scored a pair of goals and Alix Tirado added her 15th goal of the season to lead the Pirates past the Condors. Kambria Haughton had five saves in goal in posting the shutout victory.

Tirado started the scoring for Ventura (10-2-1, 4-0) in the 29th minute converting a goal from an assist by Tiffany. The Pirates led 1-0 at halftime.

Tiffany started off the second half with a bang, slotting in a score in the first minute of play after intermission. Tiffany scored her second goal in the 71st minute off a pass from Tirado. Anahi Andrade closed the scoring with a tap in goal in the 81st minute to set the 4-0 margin.

The Pirates get a bye on Wednesday before traveling to Cuesta on Friday Oct. 15. Kickoff in San Luis Obispo is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
