The VC women's soccer team moved its unbeaten streak to five games on Friday afternoon with a 3-1 victory at Moorpark. Jennifer Ramirez and Valerie Hernandez netted goals for the Pirates (8-2-1, 2-0), who outshot MC with seven shots on goal to the Raiders' three. Ventura broke the ice in the 29th minute of the game when Justice Jones sent a cross from the left side to Ramirez, who put the ball into the back of the net for a 1-0 advantage.

VC's lead expanded in the 62nd minute as the Raiders netted an own goal.

Moorpark halved the margin in the 76th minute when they scored on a penalty kick following a Ventura yellow card in the box.

Hernandez put the game on ice with her own successful penalty kick in the 82nd minute with a hard strike to the left side of the net.

Ventura totaled 12 shots in the game with seven on goal. The Raiders totaled four shots with three on target.

The win is the Pirates' fifth straight contest without a loss and their third victory in a row. They will take that streak on the road to Santa Maria on Tuesday Oct. 5 at Allan Hancock College. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
