The Ventura College women's soccer team came out on the short end of a 3-0 deficit Friday evening, falling at Rio Hondo College. The Pirates (1-3-2) managed 12 shots with seven on goal, but could not find the back of the net. VC goalie Maya Escobar had three saves while Aracely Castro recorded two stops.

Ventura returns to the pitch on Tuesday Sept. 18, hosting East Los Angeles College at 6:00 pm at the Sportsplex.
