Pirates Return to SoCal Regional Playoffs

After a one year hiatus, the Pirates' women's soccer team is returning to the Southern California Regional Playoffs.  Ventura (15-5-1) received the No. 6-seed in the draw released Tuesday and will host No. 11 Los Angeles Pierce (13-3-3) on Saturday Nov. 19 at the VC Sportsplex.  Admission, set by the CCCAA, is $12 for adults and $8 for seniors and students.  Gates will open at 6:00 pm for the 7;00 pm kickoff.

The Pirates are making their 20th appearance in the post-season in the 21-year history of the program.  The co-champions of the Western State Conference North Division are led by a pair of dynamic offensive threats in Janelle Garcia (29 goals, 9 assists) and Jennifer Orozco (19 goals, 8 assists).  The Brahmas come into the game as the champions of the Western State Conference SOuth Division.

VC played pierce on Sept. 27 in Woodland Hills, coming away with a 4-2 victory.  Janelle had a pair of goals while Orozco had a goal and an assist in the game.

The winner of the game will take on the winner of No. 3 Canyons and either No. 14 Santa Barbara or No. 19 Citrus.
