It was not a fun afternoon on the pitch for the Pirates' women's soccer team, falling on the short end of a 3-0 decision to visiting Fresno City College.  ventura managed just six shots on the afternoon with two on goal.  Marissa Dominguez had five saves in goal for VC (4-4).

The Pirates were limited offensively by the Rams' ball control. FCC seemed to control every free ball and kept the pressure on the Ventrua defense all day.  VC had its best cahnce at a goal in the 15th minute when Jennifer Orozco made a run down the right side and made a centering pass to Janelle Garcia, who took a shot that sailed just over the crossbar.  Garcia also made a run in the 68th minute but her shot from 25 yards out was stopped by the Fresno goalie.

Ventura has two home games in the next week, hosting Santa Monica on Tuesday Oct. 4 before hosting Bakersfield on Friday Oct. 7. Both matches are slated to begin at 6:00 pm at the Sportsplex.
