Returning home for the first time in over a week Ventura College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision against Los Angeles Pierce College. Goalkeeper Amy Neidiffer picked up five saves in the game. The Pirate defense excelled in keeping Ventura in the game.

Playing host to first place LA Pierce on tuesday night the Pirates (5-12-2, 4-5) soccer team was engaged in a defense battle. The game opened with 25 minutes of scoreless play when the Brahamas were able to get a run on the Pirate goal and net the only goal of the game in the 26th minute. The Pirates were able to minimize the pressure put on goalkeeper Neidiffer, but were unable to put significant pressure on the Brahamas goal. VC attempted a total of five shots in the game with four of those shots being directed on goal.

Both teams continued to battle back and forth throughout the game, but neither could find the back of the goal. The Pirates still sit in third place in the Western State Conference north division with just one game to go in the season.

Due to a scheduling conflict at Ventura College on Friday Nov. 13 the time of the game has been moved up from 6:00 pm to 5:00 pm when the Pirates will play host to Santa Barbara City College.
