Traveling to La Playa Stadium, Ventura College women's soccer dropped a 2-0 decision versus Santa Barbara City College. Goalkeeper Amy Neidiffer collected four saves in the loss. Forward Jennifer Orozco and Midfielder Megan Henderson helped a Pirate attack which had 11 shots and three on goal.

Ventura (3-10-2, 2-3) took on SBCC in a battle for the third place position in conference. After suffering a shutout loss in their last match versus conference leader Los Angeles Pierce the Pirates looked to generate an offensive attack to pick up the victory. With Orozco and Henderson combining to apply the pressure on the Vaqueros goal, VC had several strong scoring chances throughout the game with three shots on goal all defended by the SBCC keeper.

The Pirates were undone by a pair of unfortunate plays when a dropped ball rolled into the net for the Vaqueros first goal of the match. Then a penalty shot for SBCC put them up for a 2-0 advantage and Ventura was unable to mount a comeback effort.

Ventura will host second place Moorpark College on Friday Oct. 30 for a 6:00 pm match. Before heading back out on the road to travle to San Luis Obispo on Tuesday Nov. 3 for a 3:00 pm game at Cuesta College.
