Pirates Drop Close Game to Brahamas on the Road

Traveling to Woodland Hills for a game against Los Angeles Pierce, the Ventura College women's soccer team dropped a hard fought 2-0 decision. VC (3-9-2, 2-2) outshot Pierce 8-4, but were unable to net any goals. Goalkeeper Amy Neidiffer picked up two saves for the Pirates.

After a pair of shutout wins the Pirates went out on the road looking to pick up their third straight Western State Conference triumph. Paced offensively by forwards Karen Medina and Jennifer Orozco, VC attacked the Brahamas' defensive zone for eight total shots. Ventura midfielder Megan Henderson starred on both sides of the field providing the Pirates with solid defense and pressure on offense. 

The game was scoreless until the 26th minute when the Brahamas took the lead. VC continued to stay within one goal until the 52nd minute when Pierce took a 2-0 advantage.  Ventura was unable to mount a comeback in the second half. 

The Pirates next travel to Santa Barbara City College on Tuesday Oct. 20 for a 7:30 pm WSC game.
