The VC women's basketball team was awarded the No. 12 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs and will host a first round game. The Pirates (19-8) will host No. 21 Cerritos (14-14) on Wednesday Feb. 22 at 7:00 pm at the Athletic Event Center. The winner of Wednesday's game will travel to face No. 5 Cypress (21-7) on Saturday Feb. 25.
Ticket prices are $12–general admission and $8–for identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children less than 12 years of age. Only CCCAA, CCCWBCA and CCCMBCA passes are good for admission and and VC and Western State Conference passes will not be honored. The post-season competition is administrated by the CCCAA office , and sponsored by Wilson. Tickets will be available online at https://ventura.vbotickets.com/events and fans are encouraged to purchase tickets on their smart device before arriving at the game.
VC placed third in the WSC North Division with a record of 8-4 in the seven-team league. Cerritos, meanwhile, finished 6-3 in the four-team South Coast Conference South Division.
The Pirates and Falcons did not play this year, and VC owns the all-time series 9-2. The two teams last played on Dec. 18, 2017, a 64-52 Cerritos win at the Orange Coast Tournament.
Ventura is 8-8 against playoff teams this season while Cerritos is 2-12 against schools in the post-season.
