Quintino Named Honorable Mention All-American

Ventura College redshirt freshman Cece Quintino has been named an Honorable Mention All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. The 5-foot-8 guard from Liberty High School in Las Vegas leads the Prates in scoring at 16.8 points per game and assists with 3.7 dimes per contest. She is also second in rebounding with 5.6 boards per game. Cece becomes the 12th player in program history to earn All-American recognition.

The WBCA honored 10 players from around the country as first team All-Americans while another 16 received Honorable Mention accolades. The selections were made by a committee of community college coaches representing each region of the country.

Quintino transferred to VC from UC Santa Barbara, where she played in eight games before a shoulder injury sidelined her for the season. She received a medical redshirt to regain her freshman season of eligibility.

Cece also earned second team All-State honors announced by the California Community College Women's Basketball Coaches Association, and was a first team All-Western State Conference selection.

The Pirates are set to play in the CCCAA State Quarterfinals on Friday March 15 against Diablo Valley College at the VC Athletic Event Center. The game can be seen live on the VC Sports Network.
