Tom Czerwinski, a former All-American Pirate decathlete, enters his third season as Head Track & Field Coach at Ventura College in 2022. He comes to VC following a five-year stint heading the track and field program at Pacifica High School in Oxnard. He led the Tritons to their first-ever league championship in 2016.  Additionally, he was an assistant football coach at Pacifica for five years, helping the Tritons to the CIF State Championship in 2019, the first public high school in Ventura County to capture the state crown. He is a USA Track and Field Level 2 Coach for Combined Events.

Czerwinski graduated from Rio Mesa High School in 2006 where he was a standout three sport athlete. He attended Ventura College for one year in 2011 where he earned first-team All-American Honors in the Decathlon. He received his Associate's Degree in Kinesiology from Mt.San Antonio College in 2012, where he was a National Champion in the Decathlon. Czerwinski then transferred to Azusa Pacific University on an athletic scholarship, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education in 2015. At APU he also added five first-team All-American awards in the Decathlon and Heptathlon, earning two team National Championships, an individual National Championship, and was a first-team Academic All-American. He then completed his Master's Degree and Teaching Credentials from Azusa Pacific University in 2016.

Tomek still teaches Astronomy and Earth Science at Pacifica High School.
