Small Contingent of Pirates Compete at Redlands

The VC men's and women's track and field teams sent a small group of throwers and runners to the Redlands Invitational Friday. Competing against NCAA Division I, II and III athletes as well as a few community college teams, Ventura had some string performances. Adam Alfred led the Pirates placing in the shot put, discus and hammer throw.

Alfred (Oxnard) threw the shot 47' 7" to place fifth in the event while placing 14th in the discus and 23rd in the hammer. Payton Hoff (Buena) came in 17th in the discus and 24th in the hammer while TJ Donovan Guererro (Buena) was 27th in the hammer. Ethan Sanchez (Buena) placed 24th in the javelin.

On the track, Aiden Pacheco (Ventura) was 31st in the 800m and Zach Lopez broke the tape in 45th place in the 1500m

For the VC women, Jamie Lozano (Oxnard) was 16th in the shot put and 22nd in the discus.

The Pirates next head to San Luis Obispo on Friday March 24 to compete in the Western State Conference Coastal Meet at Cuesta College.
