TRACK & FIELD:  A skeleton crew traveled to Mt San Antonio College Saturday for the annual Mt. SAC Relays, casing some of the top track and field talent in the state. Seven Pirates competed with three women performing at a high level. Danielle Colvin was fourth in the long jump while Sabrina Sewell placed fifth in the 300m steeplechase. Meanwhile Brittnee Jones got the day off to a strong start with a 10th place finish in the hammer throw.

Colvin missied the gold medal by a scant seven centimeters and Sewell, already the school record holder in the steeplechase, ran her second fastest time of the year, producing only the second sub-12 minute performance in school history. Jones' mark of 139'9" solidified her No. 6 all-time in school history.

"I take a more elite group to Mt SAC so they can get a whiff of what the state meet will be like next month," commented head coach Tony Veney. "With conference upcoming, getting hit in the chops at SAC makes the conference meet seem more manageable."

The Western State Conference Prelims are Friday April 18 at College of the Canyons with the finals the following week at Antelope Valley College. Field events begin at 11:00am with the first running event starting at noon.
