Ann Wright begins her sixth season assisting with the Ventura College divers in 2022. She joined the Pirate coaching staff with four decades of dive coaching experience at the high school, community college and NCAA Division 1 levels.

Coach Wright started in the sport of diving in high school diver Grand Rapids, Mich. She earned All-State and high school All-American honors twice, before attending the University of Michigan. With the Wolverines, whe was a four-time Collegiate All-American, placing second and third at the AIAW (now NCAA) National Championships. She was a national finalist at AAU & USA junior and senior nationals and competed internationally as well.

During her 40-year coaching career Wright has mentored over 65 high school All-American divers, AAU & USA Jr. National Champions and several USA Sr. National Finalists. She been honored with "Diving Coach of the Year" award multiple times. Wright served on the National High School All-American Selection Committee on several occasions.

Coach Wright moved to California in 2006. She served as a member of the coaching staff in 2006 for the AAU International Junior Diving Competition between the USA, Canada, Hong Kong and China held in Beijing, China.

Wright accepted the diving coach position at both Los Angeles Valley College (2007-2010) and Rio Mesa High School (2007-2011), and coached at Birmingham High School (2007-2011) during the morning PE classes. She was hired as the full time Diving Coach at UC Santa Barbara in 2011 and worked with tehe Gauchos until 2014 when funding for the program ran out. Coach Wright returned to Rio Mesa High School as diving coach in January 2015. Additionally, she has served as guest coach for diving clinics and camps in Mission Viejo for nearly a decade (2006-2014).
