Softball Drops Road Game at Hancock

The Pirate softball team dropped a 9-1 decision at Allan Hancock Tuesday in Santa Maria. Six players all had one hit each for Ventura with Jennie Jacinto knocking in Haylie Lopez for VC's lone run.

The Bulldogs raced out on a steady pace with two runs in the first, three runs in the second and another score in the third inning. 

The Pirates got on the board with a run in the top of the fifth. With two outs, Lopez and Kiara Harrison  put together back-to-back singles. J. Jacinto followed with an RBI single up the middle to get VC on the board.

Unfortunately, Hancock scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game at 9-1.

Alexyss Campos, Savanna Higgins and Jade Loeffler also had hits in the game for the Pirates.

The Pirates return home for a pair of games against Chaffey and Santa Monica on Wednesday and Thursday, March 25 and 26.
