The VC softball team scored two runs in the top of the first and followed it with a seven-run second in their 13-0 rout at Los Angeles Pierce on Tuesday. Mia Guerrero pitched two innings and Morgan Albertsen threw three in the shutout of the Brahmas. Lauren Albrent led the offense with a 3-4 day including a double and a triple with four runs batted in and three runs scored.
Leading 9-0, Ventura scored fur runs in the top of the fifth to close out the 5-inning victory.
Guerrero allowed a pair of hits in her two frames in the circle while Albertsen allowed one hit while fanning three.
Ashlyn Flinchum was 3-3 on the day with a walk, two RBI and a run scored and Jocelyn Ortega also had three hits with a double and a walk, recording an RBI and a run scored.
Ciana Garcia had a single and was hit by a pitch, scoring twice and Ahlyssa Guzman also crossed home two times with a hit and an RBI. Isabel Gallegos hit an RBI triple with a run scored and Alexis Carillo was 1-3 with two RBI and one run scored.
The Pirates (19-3-1, 7-0) next host Allan Hancock on Thursday March 30 at the VC Softball Complex.
