The Ventura College softball team dropped a 7-0 decision at Pasadena City College on Friday. Marisa Felix had a pair of hits for Ventura (15-13, 7-2) while Adriana Clemons and Kaylee Neal each had a double. Serrina Cabral and Kayla Garcia also recorded hits in the game.

VC had a solid chance to score in the first inning. With one out, Cabral beat out the throw on an infield hit, and one batter later, she moved to third base on Felix's single. The Pirates could not get the clutch hit, however, and the Lancers got out of the inning.

Pasadena then scored four runs in the bottom half of the first to take control of the game.

Ventura had another solid chance in the second inning as Neal doubled to lead things off and Mendoza was hit by a pitch. The runners moved to second and third with two outs, but once again, there was no big hit to bring them home.

Down 7-0 entering the sixth, Clemons led off with a double, and moved to third base on Neal's groundout, but a pop up and a ground ball out ended the threat.

Ventura continues Western State Conference North Division play on Tuesday April 2 at Bakersfield.
