Anissa Padilla was unstoppable Thursday afternoon at Moorpark. The VC sophomore was 4-4 at the plate with three RBI offensively while pitching a five-inning shutout, allowing just three hits with five strikeouts in Ventura's 9-0 victory over the Raiders. Celeste Ekman was 2-3 with a double and three runs batted in for VC (27-9, 11-2) in the victory. The Pirates totaled 15 hits as a team in the game.

Ventura left little doubt of the outcome from the first inning, scoring six runs in the frame. They came back with one run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to set the final margin in mercy-rule fashion.

Sophie Dahlstedt was 2-3 at the plate with one RBI while Kaylee Neal also had a pair of hits with a run batted in.

VC closed out the regular season on Tuesday April 24 at Santa Barbara with first pitch at 2:30 pm. Then they will await a playoff assignment with hopes of drawing a home series on May 4 and 5.
