The Ventura College softball team had its six-game winning streak snapped Wednesday with an 8-0 defeat at El Camino College in Torrance. Angelina Flores had the only hit for the Pirates (17-6, 5-1), who had just four base runners over the five inning contest. Anissa Padilla made the start in the pitcher's circle, giving up six runs, five earned, over three innings. Megan Best pitched the final inning for Ventura.

Flores had a single to lead off the second inning, then reached base on a two-out error in the fourth. Celeste Ekman and Danielle Carmona both drew walks in the top of the fifth, but could not come around to score.

The Pirates resume Western State Conference play on Thursday March 29 with a home date against Santa Monica. First pitch is slated for 2:30 pm at the VC Softball Complex.
