The VC softball team won its fourth straight game, and its fifth in six Western State Conference contests, defeating visiting Moorpark 8-1 Tuesday afternoon. Megan Best pitched a complete game for the Pirates, allowing one run on three hits with four strike outs. Adriana Clemons was 3-4 at the plate with a double and four runs batted in to lead the attack for Ventura (15-5, 5-1).
Sophie Dahlstedt was 2-4 with a double and three RBI while Kaylee Neal had a pair of hits and a run batted in. Angelina Flores also recorded two hits and Best was 1-2 at the plate.
The Pirates' home contest against Santa Barbara on Thursday March 22 has been postponed due to the forecast of heavy rain. Weather permitting, the Pirates will host the annual VC Spring Games on Saturday and Sunday March 24 and 25.
