Sophomore shortstop Brittany Perez was named the Western State Conference North Division Most Valuable Player and first-year head coach Sonia Ford was named Coach of the Year in voting by the conference softball coaches earlier this month.  The awards headlined several All-WSC North Division accolades for the Pirates, who finished tied atop the conference for the first time since 2012. Sophomores Julianne Abeloe and Justine De La Rosa and freshmen Anissa Padilla and Celeste Ekman also earned first-team ALL-WSC honors.

Ventura was also well-represented on the second-team ALL-WSC list with sophomores Julianna Andrade and Alyssa Frutos. Freshmen Breana Betancourt and Alyson Mora earned honorable mention All-WSC nods.

The Pirates finished the season with a 29-14 overall record and a 19-5 mark in the nine-team WSC North Division, tied with Allan Hancock College. VC won its play-in SoCal Regional Playoff game over Grossmont College before falling in the first round of the playoffs to No. 2-seed Mt. San Antonio College.
