VC pitcher Anissa Padilla had a pair of strikeouts in the Pirates' playoff loss at Mt. San Antonio Friday evening.

In the first game of a best two-of-three series, the Pirate softball team fell 8-0 Friday evening at Mt. San Antonio College in five innings. The Pirates, seeded No. 16 in Southern California, could not get on base against the No. 2-seeded Mounties, as Mt. SAC retired all 15 batters the Pirates sent to the plate. Anissa Padilla took to the circle for VC (29-13), yielding eight runs, six earned, over the five innings with two strikeouts.

Ventura will give their best effort to bounce back from the defeat on Saturday May 6 at 2:00 pm in game two of the series.  A Ventur victory would force a decisive game three immediately following as a double-header.
