Ventura Wins 4th Straight at Bakersfield

Winning for the fourth time in as many outings, the Pirate softball team defeated Bakersfield 8-3 on the road Thursday evening. Anissa Padilla did the job on in the pitcher's circle and at the plate, picking up the victory and knocking out two hits, including a double, with two RBI. Brittany Perez and Justine De La Rosa also picked up two hits each, including a double for each, and Julianna Andrade had a single and a double with a pair of runs batted in for the Pirates (13-6, 6-3).

The Renegades took the early lead with a run in the bottom of the first inning, and Ventura took the upper hand with two scores in the fourth.  The Pirates blew the game open with a six-run sixth inning and BC's answer of two runs in the bottom half of the frame made the final 8-3 for the Pirates.

Ventura travels to Santa Monica for two games on Tuesday March 21 and to Oxnard for one on Thursday March 23 before hosting the VC Spring Games at the VC Softball Complex Saturday and Sunday March 25-26.
