Ventura College softball sophomore Lindsey Dietz signed a scholarship to continue her academic and athletic careers at Doane College in Crete, Neb. next year. Dietz, and All-Western State Conference catcher, has played in all 28 games for VC this season and is second on the team with a .341 batting average. She also leads the team in runs scored (27), doubles (5), home runs (2), and walks (17). The St. Bonaventure High School product also has 28 hits, 16 RBI and six stolen bases on the season.
Dietz will be exchanging her orange and black with the Pirates for orange and black with the Doane Tigers, an NAIA school. The softball team is the defending Great Plains Athletic Conference champions, and currently the team is 16-7 overall and 5-1 in the GPAC.
Lindsey currently has a 3.40 GPA and will be graduating from Ventura College in May. She plans to major in biochemistry at Doane.
