VC Softball Drops Pair to Open 2015

The Ventura College softball team opened the 2015 campaign by dropping a pair of games at the Glendale Tournament.  They were shutout 11-0 by Pasadena in the first game before falling by an 11-7 decision in the second.

Ventura's defense struggled in the first two innings, giving up seven runs in the first two frames against the Lancers.  Farris Burke and Yamilex Ruiz recorded the only two hits for the Pirates.

Brittany Perez went 3-3 for VC to lead the way with a triple and two RBI.  Carly Camarillo had a two-run home run in the third inning and Claira Lozano was 1-2 with a run batted in. 

THe Pirates are back at in on Saturday Jan. 31 with games against San Diego Mesa at 3:00 pm and with Glendale at 7:00 pm to conclude the tournament.
