Kemi Dijkstra begins her first season coaching with the VC men's water polo team in 2023. She brings over 16 years of dedication to the sport and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to pool deck for the Pirates.

Coach Kemi's water polo journey began in the Netherlands, where she not only competed but also had the privilege of coaching youth teams. This experience honed her understanding of the game and ignited a lifelong passion for nurturing young talent.

After her time in the Netherlands, Kemi pursued further athletic and academic growth at Santa Barbara City College, where she was part of a state championship-winning team. She transferred to Cal Lutheran University, where she helped lead the Regals to a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title. Coach Kemi was named a Division III first-team All-American at Cal Lu.

Passionate about sharing her knowledge and inspiring aspiring athletes, Coach Kemi am thrilled to be a part of the coaching staff at Ventura College. Through a supportive and inclusive environment, her coaching philosophy centers around teamwork, skill development, and fostering a love for the sport.
