Men's Polo Ends Season in WSC Tourney

The VC men's water polo team had its 2022 season come to an end in the first round of the Western State Conference Tournament at Citrus on Wednesday. The Pirates dropped a 14-9 decision to the Owls in the bracket's play-in game. Alexis Nava led Ventura with three goals and a steal while Joe Lowry netted two scores with an assist and a theft. Matthew Ogonowski also contributed two goals and an assist in the effort

Despite their 8-2 halftime deficit. The Pirates kept up the effort in the final 16 minutes of the game. Ogonowski scored twice in the third period, and Nava and Lowry also found the inside of the cage as VC outscored the Owls 4-3 in the period.

Nava scored twice more in the final stanza, and Sebastian Cornejo netted a goal as VC maintained its deficit to close the contest.

Rafael Rodriguez also scored in the game while grabbing a steal.
