Needing a win to keep their State playoff hopes alive the Ventura College (14-3, 2-5) couldn't capitalize on scoring opportunities throughout the game. Down 4-2 at the half the Pirates were very much in the game applying contest pressure to the Cougars with 13 shots in the first half but could only connect on the two goals. Cuesta was able to pull away from Ventura in the second half of the game when they out scored the Pirates 7-3. Ventura attempted 13 more shots in the second half, but Cuesta was able to turn away 10 of those shots to hold on for the victory 11-5. With the defeat the Pirates finished fourth in the WSC tournament.

Ventura drew eight ejections against Cuesta with Nathan Sardoni forcing three of those. Amorim was able to pick up two ejections on the Cougars. Amorim also picked up two steals in the game finishing up what has been a stellar season for him.

With the loss the Pirates will likely have completed their 2015 campaign.
