Pirates Fall In Regular Season Finale

In their final regular season Western State Conference game, Ventura College men's water polo suffered a 19-7 defeat against the Citrus College Owls. Isaias Castanon scored two goals, drew two ejections and had a steal in the loss. Rogelio Coronado added two goals and a steal for Ventura.

Facing off with the second-place Owls, Ventura struggled to mount an offensive attack in the first half, falling behind 11-0 at intermission. VC battled back and refused to go away, scoring seven goals in the second half led by Castanon and Coronado with Nathan SardoniAlejandro Astudillo and Coby Wiegman each picking up a single goal. Wiegman added a pair of steals for the Pirates defense. 

The Pirates (13-11, 1-3) will likely be the No. 4 seed in the upcoming WSC Tournament scheduled to take place Nov. 5, 6 and 7 at Los Angeles Valley College.
