The VC men's water polo team fell behind 7-0 after the first quarter and was never able to get into the game, ultimately falling 15-4 to the Monarchs in Valley Glen. Daniel Amorim scored two goals for the Pirates (8-8, 1-1) in the loss. The loss ends the VC' six-game winning streak.

Amorim also had an assist for Ventura in the match while Trevor Edwards had a goal and a steal. Rogelio Coronado also found the back of the net and Coby Wiegman picked up two steals. Nathan Sardoni and Isaias Castanon each had two drawn ejections in the match.

The Pirates will travel to Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday Oct. 10 to play Cal Tech and Chaffey in a mini tournament.  They then travel to the Cuesta Tournament Friday and Saturday Oct. 16 and 17.
