Men's Polo Falls Twice at Mt. SAC Tournament

The Pirates' men's water polo team wrapped up the Mt. San Antonio Tournament Saturday in Walnut with a pair of losses.  VC (2-7) dropped their first match of the day to the hosts, 14-4, before falling to Fullerton College 14-9 in the teams' third contest in nine days.

Ventura 4, Mt. San Antonio 14
The Pirates began the day dropping a decision to the tournament hosts.  Daniel Amorim led VC with three goals, one block and two steals while Eric Krieger netted the Ventura's other score. Alejandro Astudillo picked up three steals and Coby Wiegman had two thefts while Trevor Edwards handed out a pair of assists.  Dalton Escrofani had three saves in the cage.

Ventura 9, Fullerton 14
The Hornets took the rubber game of the three-game set between VC and Fullerton over the past nine days.  Keaton Hess led the way with three goals as Brandon Haase and Astudillo had two scores each.  Amorim had a goal, one assist, two drawn ejections and two steals and Krieger scored once for the Pirates. 

Ventura will return home on Saturday Sept. 26 to host Rio Hondo College.  the game is set for 10:30 am at the Ventura Aquatic Center.
