The Pirates' men's water polo team closed the 2014 conference season with a solid19-12 victory at Santa Monica College Wednesday afternoon. Daniel Amorim and Dominic Tassano led VC (5-20, 1-3) with six goals each while J'son Ruiz stopped 10 Corsair shots in the match.
Keaton Hess recorded three goals and Trevor Edwards scored twice in the match. Michael Barbosa and Renan Mendes also found the cage on offense.
The Pirates close the regular season at home with a mini tournament on Friday Oct. 31 at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Ventura will take on Mt. San Antonio at 1:00 pm before battling fullerton at 3:00 pm. VC heads to the Western State Conference tournament next Friday and Saturday, Nov. 7 and 8, at Citrus.
