Pirates Fall Twice to Conclude ARC Tournament

Following a pair of wins Friday, the Pirates' men's water polo team fell to defeat twice Saturday in Sacramento to complete the American River Tournament.  THe Pirates lost to the gold Coast Masters 17-7 before falling to Sierra 12-4 in the finale.  Dominic Tassano continued his strong play with four goals and Keaton Hess scored twice on the day.

For the second weekend in a row, VC had a tough time with a team of older, more experienced players, falling to the Gold Coast masters 17-7.  Tassano netted a pair of scores while Daniel AmorimTrevor Edwards, Mitchell Ongstad, Hess and Alejandro Astudillo all found the back of the net one time.  J'son Ruiz turned back five shots in the net.

Ventura 4, Sierra 12
Fatigue set in with the Pirates in the tournament finale as VC fell 12-4 the Wolverines.  Ruiz recorded eight saves and Tassano scored twice.  Hess and Michael Barbosa also scored for the Pirates. 

Ventura next hits the pool at the Riverside City College Tournament Firday and Saturday, October 10 and 11.  VC returns home on Wednesday Oct. 22 against Citrus.
