The Pirates' men's tennis team completes an undefeated run through the Western State Conference Thursday with a 9-0 sweep over Bakersfield at the VC Tennis Center. Ventura (11-0, 6-0) dropped just six games the entire match with Yuya Koide, Sam Ashbrook, Santino Serralonga and Regnar Madarang all completing love love sweeps in singles play.
Philemon Jabin and Jinsei Tajima recorded an 8-0 win in No. 2 doubles before Serralonga and Madarang won 8-1 in No. 3 doubles and Koide and Ryan Lam posted an 8-3 win in the No. 1 doubles slot.
While Koide, Ashbrook, Serralonga and Madarang all blanked their opponents in singles play, Brodie Sodersten won in No. 1 singles love and one while Lam won his No. 5 singles match one and love.
The Pirates next travel to Fullerton on Thursday March 17.
