Pirates Record WSC Win at Glendale

Sophomore Alexandre Campolina was a double winner Thursday, winning in No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-0 and teaming up with Leo Noni to triumph in No. 3 doubles, 8-1, as VC defeated Glendale 6-3.
Sophomore Alexandre Campolina was a double winner Thursday, winning in No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-0 and teaming up with Leo Noni to triumph in No. 3 doubles, 8-1, as VC defeated Glendale 6-3.

The Pirates' men's tennis team traveled to Glendale Thursday afternoon, coming home with a 6-3 victory over the Vaqueros. Alexandre Campolina and Ryan Lam teamed up to win in No. 3 doubles before they each won their respective singles contest. Charles De La Laurencie was the other double-winner for the Pirates (2-0, 2-0).

In addition to Campolina and Lam's 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles, the duo of De La Laurencie and Yuya Koide claimed a team point with an 8-4 win in the No. 2 slot. 

De La Laurencie won in No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-0, and Lam captured his No. 4 singles match, 6-3, 7-5. Meanwhile, Campolina and Cody Castro won their Nos. 5 and 6 singles matches by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores.

 The Pirates next host Saddleback College in a non-conference contest on Tuesday Feb. 11 at 2:00 pm.
