Rosales & Spiegelman Claim WSC Doubles Crown

Ventura's Antonio Rosales and Kyle Spiegelman claimed the Western State Conference men's doubles championship Friday in play at the VC Tennis Center. The pair moved into the final by a default victory in the semifinals, then defeated a pair from Glendale 6-3, 3-0, ret. to claim the crown. Rosales and Spiegelman become the seventh VC pair to win the conference title in the last eight years, at least the 16th doubles pair from VC to claim the top prize in WSC competition.

In other action on Friday, Rosales played in the men's singles championship match, falling to his opponent from Gelndale 6-4, 6-3.

Rosales and Spiegelman are one of three Pirate doubles teams to advance to the CCCAA State Championships late this month at The Ojai Tournament. They will be joined in the doubles draw by Thiago Batista and Alexandre Campolina, along with the duo of Jacob Boucher and Eric Rodriguez.  In singles play, Rosales advances to The Ojai along with Charles De La Laurencie, Spiegelman and Campolina. The state championships will be held April 25-28.
