Men's Tennis Sweeps Shorthanded Pierce

Ventura College's Antonio Rosales won his No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-0 as the Pirates swept a shorthanded Los Angeles Pierce team 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

The VC men's tennis team swept a shorthanded Los Angeles Pierce team 9-0 Tuesday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. The Brahmas came to Ventura with three active layers, giving the Pirates default victories in Nos. 4, 5 and 6 singles and Nos. 2 and 3 doubles. Antonio Rosales yielded just one game in his one and love win at No. 1 singles while Alexandre Campolina and Thiago Batista recorded an 8-0 win in No. 1 doubles for Ventura (4-2, 1-1).

Charles De La Laurencie won in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-2 while Kyle Spiegelman triumphed in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-2.

The Pirates will next travel to Santa Barbara on Thursday Feb. 28 for a make-up of a rained out match on Feb. 5.
