Men's Tennis Falls at Home to Cerritos

VC freshman Kyle Spiegelman teamed up with Antonio Rosales to win in No. 1 doubles, then narrowly lost his No. 4 singles match against Cerritos Tuesday at the VC Tennis Center.

The Pirates' men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to visiting Cerritos College Tuesday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. Antonio Rosales and Kyle Spiegelman teamed up in No. 1 doubles for an 8-5 victory, and Charles De La Laurencie won his No. 2 singles match for Ventura's lone points in the competition.

De La Laurencie was leading his No. 2 singles match 6-2, 3-2 when his opponent retired due to injury. Spiegelman narrowly missed winning two points dropping a super tiebreaker 4-10 after splitting his sets at No. 4 singles, 4-3, 2-6.

Ventura next travels to Saddleback on Friday Feb. 22 for a 2:00 pm match-up with the Gauchos.
