  • De La Laurencie, Bautista, Two Double Teams Names All-WSC
    May 25, 2019
    VC freshman Charles De La Laurencie and sophomore Thiago Batista headlined the Pirates' men's tennis team's first team All-Western State Conference selections for the 2019 season. De La Laurencie and doubles partner James Moulton along with Antonio Rosales and Kyle Spiegelman earned first team honors in doubles for Ventura.
  • Men's Tennis Season Comes to an End at The Ojai
    April 27, 2019
    Its no easy task to play on Santurday at The Ojai Tournament. That is exactly what VC men's tennis doubles team of Antonio Rosales and Kyle Spiegelman did Saturday as they advanced to the quarterfinals of the CCCAA State Doubles Championships. The Pirates' No. 1 duo made a strong showing at the Ojai Athletic Club, ultimately coming up short against Northern California's No. 1 seed from Foothill College, falling 6-3, 6-4.
  • Rosales and Spiegelman Advance to Ojai Quarterfinals

    The Pirates' doubles team of Antonio Rosales and Kyle Spiegelman advanced to the quarterfinals of CCCAA State Championships at The Ojai Tournament Friday with a pair of victories. The No. 3-seed from Southern California, the VC duo defeated a team from Mt. San Antonio College, 6-1, 6-2 before downing the SoCal No. 8-seeds from San Diego City, 6-4, 6-2. The pair will take the court in the state quarterfinals on Saturday April 27 at 2:30 pm at the Ojai Athletic Club.

    The VC men's tennis team had a solid showing in the opening rounds of the CCCAA State Singles and Doubles Championships hosted by The Ojai Tournament. Antonio Rosales, Charles De La Laurencie and Kyle Spiegelman all moved into the round of 32 in singles while the doubles pair of Rosales and Spiegelman also moved into the top-32.
  • Rosales & Spiegelman Claim WSC Doubles Crown
    April 12, 2019
    Ventura's Antonio Rosales and Kyle Spiegelman claimed the Western State Conference men's doubles championship Friday in play at the VC Tennis Center. The pair moved into the final by a default victory in the semifinals, then defeated a pair from Glendale 6-3, 3-0, ret. to claim the crown. Rosales and Spiegelman become the seventh VC pair to win the conference title in the last eight years.
  • Pirate Tennis Falls in Playoff Opener
    April 09, 2019
    The VC men's tennis team had its dual season come to an end Tuesday in the opening round of the CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs with a 5-0 loss at No. 2-seed Irvine Valley College. After being swept in doubles play, The No. 7-seeded Pirates dropped Nos. 3 and 6 in singles to concede the match.
  • Men's Tennis Qualifies for SoCal Regionals

    The Ventura College men's tennis team will continue its season in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Pirates (12-4) received the No. 6-seed in the draw and will travel to No. 3 Irvine Valley (11-1) on Tuesday April 9 for a quarterfinal match-up. The Pirates finished second in the Western State Conference with a 6-2 conference mark while the Lasers breezed through the Orange Empire Conference with a perfect 8-0 mark.
  • Pirates Advance to Ojai in WSC Championships

    VC's Antonio Rosales led a host of Pirates whose play in the Western State Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday has qualified them for the CCCAA State Championships held at the Ojai Tournament later this month. Rosales had a win on Friday and two more on Saturday to advance to the WSC singles championship to be played Friday April 12 at the VC Tennis Center. In doubles, Rosales and partner Kyle Spiegelman, and the duo of Thiago Batista and Alexandre Campolina moved to the WSC semifinals, also to be played April 12.
  • Ventura Closes Regular Season With Victory
    March 29, 2019
    The Ventura College men's tennis team closed the regular season with an 8-1 victory over Grossmont Friday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. Thiago Batista won in No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-2 to clinch the match for the Pirates (13-4, 6-2). VC won a pair of doubles matches to take an early 2-1 lead on the Griffins before sweeping through singles play.
  • Pirates Complete Season-Sweep of Renegades
    March 28, 2019
    The Pirates'men's tennis team completed Western State Conference play by completing a season-sweep of Bakersfield College on the road Thursday afternoon. VC blanked the Renegades 9-0 for the second time this season, led by Antonio Rosales, Kyle Spiegelman and Thiago Batista, all of whom posted love and love vistories in singles play. Rosales and Spiegelman also won their doubles match 8-0 for Ventura (11-4, 5-2).
  • VC Victorious Before Match Starts at LA Pierce
    March 26, 2019
    The Ventura College men's tennis team had the victory in hand before play began at Los Angeles Pierce Tuesday afternoon as the Brahmas only had three players available for their match-up with the Pirates. VC (10-4, 4-2) won five points by default, then won three more on the court for the 8-1 Western State Conference victory. Charles De La Laurencie and James Moulton won in singles while Antonio Rosales and Kyle Spiegelman triumphed in doubles play.
  • Pirate Tennis Sweeps Bakersfield, 9-0
    March 14, 2019
    The Ventura College men's tennis team swept visiting Bakersfield 9-0 Thursday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. The bottom half of the line-up shut out the Renegades as Alexandre Campolina, Thiago Batista and James Moulton swept the Nos. 4, 5, and 6 singles matches, respectively, with identical 6-0, 6-0 scores. Batista and doubles partner Charles De La Laurencie also shut out their opponents in No. 2 doubles, 8-0.
  • Ventura Defeats Santa Barbara, 8-1
    March 12, 2019
    After multiple re-schedulings, the Pirates' men's tennis team finally faced Santa Babrara City College, coming away with an 8-1 victory at Pershing Park on Tuesday. Thiago Batista highlighted the day with a golden set, producing 24 straight winners in his 6-0, 6-0 victory in No. 5 singles. He then teamed up with Jacob Boucher for an 8-0 win in No. 3 doubles for the Pirates (6-3, 2-2).
  • Pirates Sweep San Diego Mesa on the Road
    March 01, 2019
    The Ventura College men's tennis team made the trek to San Diego on Friday, coming home with a 9-0 sweep over the Olympians in a non-conference contest. James Moulton did not drop a game all day, winning his No. 6 singles match love and love after teaming up with Charles De La Laurencie in No. 3 doubles for an 8-0 win. De La Laurencie also won in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-0.
  • Men's Tennis Sweeps Shorthanded Pierce
    February 26, 2019
    The VC men's tennis team swept a shorthanded Los Angeles Pierce team 9-0 Tuesday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. The Brahmas came to Ventura with three active layers, giving the Pirates default victories in Nos. 4, 5 and 6 singles and Nos. 2 and 3 doubles. Antonio Orsales yielded just one game in his one and love win at No. 1 singles while Alexandre Campolina and Thiago Batists recorded an 8-0 win in No. 1 doubles for Ventura (4-2, 1-1).

    The Pirates' men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to visiting Cerritos College Tuesday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. Antonio Rosales and Kyle Speigelman teamed up in No. 1 doubles for an 8-5 victory, and Charles De La Laurencie won his No. 2 singles match for Ventura's lone points in the competition.
  • Men's Tennis Drops WSC Opener to Visiting Glendale

    The VC men's tennis team dropped a narrow 5-4 decision to visiting Glendale college Thursday at the VC Tennis Center in the Pirates' conference opener. Charles De La Laurencie was Ventura's only double winner, earning two points for VC with a win in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-2, and a victory in No. 3 doubles with partner James Moulton, 8-6. Thiago Batista won a close match in No. 5 singles, 7-5, 603, and the doubles team of Antonio Rosales and Kyle Speigelman won in No. 1 doubles, 9-8 (7-2).
  • Men's Tennis Opens Season With Big Victory
    February 01, 2019
    The Ventura College men's tennis team opened up their 2019 season with a big 8-1 victory over visiting Fullerton College Friday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. Antonio Rosales teamed up with Kyle Spiegelman to prevail in No. 1 doubles, 8-1, before Rosales captured No.1 singles 6-1, 6-1 and Speigelman won in No. 4 singles, love and one. Alexandre Campolina, Thiago Batista and Charles De La Laurencie were also double winners on the day for VC (1-0).
