The VC Men's tennis team made it six straight sweeping victories in conference play Thursday afternoon with a 9-0 triumph over Santa Barbara City College at Pershing Park. Alexander Martin posted a love love victory at No. 6 singles, and Augustin Lestelle and Rodrigo Perdigao blanked their opponents in No. 3 doubles.The victory maintains the Pirates' perfect mark at 9-0 and runs their Western State Conference mark to 6-0.
Solal Cherqui had little trouble at No. 1 singles, taking the match by a 6-1, 6-3 count, while Priyank Soni won at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-4. Augustin Lestelle won his No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-3, and Rafael Dunan moved up to win at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-0. Perdigao won his No. 5 singles match, 6-3, 6-4.
In doubles play, Manu Rowe and Martin won at No. 1, 8-6, and Dunan and Jakob Rinschen prevailed in No. 2 doubles, 8-5.
VC next heads south to Cerritos College on Friday March 9 to take on the top-ranked Falcons in a key non-conference match. Play is set to begin at 2:00 pm
