Pirates Defeat Bakersfield and Beat Rain, On the Road

The VC men's tennis team defeated the Bakersfield Renegades Tuesday afternoon while beating the rain to do it. The Pirates won five singles matches before the skies opened up, ending the match with Ventura ahead 5-0. Priyank Soni and Rodrigo Perdigao each led the way with love and love victories at the Nos. 2 and 6 slots, respectively.

Adrien Etiemble (No. 3) and Rafael Dunan (No. 5) each won their matches one and love while Augustin Lestelle (No. 4) won 6-4, 6-0. Solal Cherqui was leading at No. 1, 7-6, when the rains ended the match with VC holding an insurmountable lead.

Ventura (7-0, 4-0) completed the first round of conference play undefeated, and will next host Glendale on Tuesday march 6 at the VC Tennis Center. The match is slated to begin at 2:00 pm.
