Pirates Win Second Match of Three-Day Homestand

VC freshman Rodrigo Perdigao won his No. 5 singles match Friday against Grossmont, 6-0, 6-1, then won in No. 3 doubles with Manu Rowe, 8-2.  The Pirates won the match against The Griffins, 7-2.

The VC men's tennis team started the weekend off right with a 7-2 victory over Grossmont Friday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. Florent Auteuil posted a love and love win at No. 6 singles while Cruz Thayne and Rodrigo Perdigao lost just one game in their straight-sets victories at Nos. 4 and 5 singles, respectively. 

Bill Whitaker won in No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-3 while Manu Rowe prevailed in No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-2.

In doubles play, Whitaker and Thayne won in the No. 2 slot 8-2, and Perdigao and Rowe triumphed in the No. 3 slot by an identical score.

Ventura closes out three matches in three days on Saturday March 4, hosting Saddleback at 12:00 noon.
