Ventura College tennis star Hironori Koyanagi has signed a scholarship to continue his academic and tennis careers at UC Santa Barbara.  In his two seasons with the orange and black, Koyanagi made a case as one of, if not the best men's tennis player ever to play at VC.  He finished his career with a 46-2 singles record and a 37-4 doubles mark.

Koyanagi was the 2015 CCCAA State Champion and lost in the finals in 2016.  He was twice the Western State Conference champion in both singles and doubles. His freshman season, he did not drop a set in posting a perfect 23-0 record.  He also won two Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southern California championships and was a national runner up at the ITA  championships in the fall of 2015.

Koyanagi came to Ventura College from Fukuoka, Japan.
