Men's Tennis Completes Undefeated Season

The Ventura College men's tennis wrapped up an undefeated run through the Western State Conference with a 7-2 win over Bakersfield. Leonardo Santos and Victor Ribeiro were winners on the doubles and singles sides of play. Ventura went undefeated in the singles portion of the match.

For Ventura, Santos and Ribeiro were the sole winners in doubles play at No. 2 doubles picking up a 8-2 win. The Pirates fell in the other two matches of doubles play. 

On the singles side of the match Hironori Koyanagi was a straight sets winner at the No. 1 singles level setting off a clean sweep of singles play. Ventura did not drop a set of singles play winning all six contests in straight sets. Ribeiro only lost two points on his way to winning the No. 5 singles contest. 

With the win the Pirates wrapped up their turn throught WSC North play. On the season the Pirates are 12-1 and will travel to Cerritos College on Tues Mar. 29 for a 2:00 pm contest which is a makeup from a rain out on Mar. 11. Then they wrap up regular season play on Wednesday Mar. 30 with another road trip headed to San Diego Mesa for a 2:00 pm contest.
